In order to help stem the rising costs of medication, medical supplies and care, Eblen Medical helps provide medical assistance to the children, adults, and families living in our community. Families having to daily face living with the burdens and the effects that illnesses and disabilities so often bring have to face many challenges and decisions that other families do not. Inspired by these courageous families, Eblen Medical sets out to stand beside them as they take up this most important fight.
Medical Equipment Assistance: Developed to help provide wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and all other manner of durable medical equipment to families in need, this program strives to help families get around a bit easier.
By providing this equipment, families who may be bed bound or home bound can be given the liberty that these pieces of equipment can offer. Given on a loan basis for as long as the family needs and then returned, gives long life to all of our equipment and the ability to help more and more families.
Medication Assistance Service: Much like the Children’s Pharmacy, the Medication Assistance Service provides medication to adults living in western North Carolina. Utilizing a network of all pharmacies in the area and negotiating some of the lowest prices in the nation, families in need of help can continue to see their same physicians and visit their local pharmacies so their continuum of care is not disrupted.
By operating in this manner and not using a formulary (a specific list of available medication), all medication is available and ready to pick up at the family’s convenience. Giving these families a choice on where they can receive care and obtain their medication helps to maintain the dignity and respect they all deserve.
Eblen Vision: In partnership with Lenscrafters, Champion Vision Centers, and Biltmore Vision, eyeglasses and eye exams are available to those families who are living with illnesses and disabilities at no cost to them.
Thanks to our partner’s great generosity, the Eblen-Kimmel Charitable group only has to pay a fraction of the regular cost of exams and glasses so thousands of families have been able to see the world a little clearer.
The Healthcare Outreach Project: One of the most important aspects of health care many times goes unmet due to the fact that families cannot afford to see a doctor. Small problems can easily grow into major problems without seeing a physician.
In effort to curtail this dilemma, The Healthcare Outreach Project provides funding assistance to these families in need of care they cannot afford. This program, as with the Medication Assistance Service, provides our families with a luxury most of us enjoy but few organizations offer, the ability to choose their own physician and care.
Prescription Outreach Partnership: In order to help address long-term medication needs, the Eblen-Kimmel Charitable Group has joined with Mission Hospitals, Three Streams Family Health Center, local physicians, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to provide various medications for a maximum period of ninety days.
Eligibility for the program differs from company to company and is based on need and depending on the manufacturer, financial criteria. Medication is ordered and delivered to the physicians and patients pick up their prescriptions when convenient. Through this program, thousands of prescriptions each year are dispensed.
The Hearing Aid Assistance Partnership: Created in response to the growing requests for assistance in providing hearing aids to those in need of hearing assistance. Through the Hearing Aid Assistance Partnership provides hearing aids at little or no cost to those in need.
Through this affiliation with WNC Hearing Aid Services, more families in need of hearing assistance can be given aid in acquiring audiology assessments, molds, fittings, hearing aids and follow-up. Working together and reducing the costs can serve a greater number of children and families and the precious gift of hearing can be restored.
